Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi in his UN address suggested International Day of Yoga,the date of 21st June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It has been introduced all over the world from the year 2015.
As part of this occasion, BPS & JC celebrated International Day of Yoga on 21st, 2019 having extended assembly.
MR. DVM Naidu, Sr. Manager ITC PSPD was invited as chief guest. It was a common assembly with all primary and High school students and teachers in the school play ground. NCC cadets of Uppusaka School, VM Banjar also joined the assembly accompanying by their NCC teachers to mark this occasion.
The assembly started with a prayer song followed by the ceremonial practice of lightening of the lamp and invoking the goddess by the dignitaries. It was followed by pledge, oath, student's prayer, news and thought for the day. It was further continued by a song by our school choir and speech by BPS teacher, Mr. Krishna Rao.
Later, BPS students, Vishnukanth and team demonstrated the yoga asanaswhile the benefits of each asana was narrated. Then, Veda Sri and Mahitashared their views on the importance of Yoga Day. Finally the programme culminated with, Mr. DVM Naidu's address. He gave a few tips to the students for their happy, healthy and beautiful life. Students along with the Chief guest practiced Pranayama.
The assembly ended with a National Anthem
